How to Perform a Putaway
You can have different storage options:
- Products in storage locations.
- Products in containers.
- Containers in storage locations.
- Containers in containers.
Instructions
- Go to the "Putaway" menu, available on the side menu of the application or on the home page.
- Scan the origin (where are you retrieving the product/container from)
- Scan the item (what are you retrieving from the origin - it can be a product or a container).
- Indicate the quantity to retrieve (it cannot be more than the available quantity).
- Scan the destination (where are you moving the product/container to - it can be a container or a storage location).
You can enter the information manually or through barcode scanning:
- When using barcode scanning, ensure that containers, locations, and products are properly identified (they should have a label with the barcode on it).
- When entering manually, you need to identify the type of code you are entering. You can do that by selecting one of the icons on the left side of the input field.
You can also fix the origin or destination, allowing you to store items without having to re-enter the origin/destination codes.
For example, if you want to store multiple items from the Unloading Location to the shelves, once you enter the origin code for the Unloading Location, you have the option to fix that field. From then on, you only need to enter the item and destination codes.
