How to set up optical scanners?

Note: For optimal performance in the optical reading of barcodes, ensure that the scanner can be configured for:

  1. Language: It should have the same language as defined on the computer in use.
  2. AIM Code (AIM Code): A prefix that identifies the type of barcode read (usually with the symbol ] followed by two characters: d2, A0, etc.).
  3. Group Separator (or Global Suffix): A constant suffix in 2D barcodes (datamatrix, QRCode, etc.), indicating to the application that a certain block of information has ended, and another will begin.

Instructions

  1. Go to the "Settings" menu, available on the side menu of the application.
  2. Access the "Scanner" tab and then select the "Settings" tab.
  3. Custom AIM Prefixes will be added automatically as you scan, but you can also add them manually:
    • Click "Add."
    • Enter the code.
    • Check "Active."
    • Click "Save."
  4. Custom Group Separators (GS) will be added automatically as you scan, but you can also add them manually:
    • Click "Add."
    • Enter the code.
    • Check "Active."
    • Click "Save."
  5. You can test these configurations in the "Tester" tab.
