Logistical traceability
The concept of logistical traceability refers to the ability to identify the origin and the different stages through which a product passes throughout the entire production process, as well as its subsequent logistical distribution until it reaches the end consumer.
Therefore, a traceability system encompasses a set of processes that allow monitoring the location of a product in the supply chain at any given moment, as well as tracing its path or predicting the route it will follow.
Advantages:
- For companies: Helps identify critical points along the supply chain to address incidents and improve productivity and quality.
- For consumers: Enhances confidence in purchasing products and services, particularly in e-commerce businesses, as it reduces uncertainty in online purchases.
- For regulators: In sectors such as public health, including pharmaceuticals and food, traceability systems are mandatory and have been heavily regulated for years.
